The headend is where the whole system lives or dies. We rack it properly, label every module and cable, and amplify the signal so it arrives strong on the top floor and the ground floor alike. What is an IRS (Integrated Reception System)?
An IRS is a single communal headend on the building that receives TV, Freeview/digital terrestrial, satellite, Sky Q, Freesat and DAB/FM radio, then distributes all of it over one cabled network to every flat or room. Instead of dozens of separate aerials and dishes, the whole building shares one tidy, future-proof system.
Is an IRS Sky Q compatible?
Yes. We design IRS headends to be fully Sky Q ready, distributing the Sky Q signal over the communal network so residents can subscribe and use Sky Q in their flat without their own dish. The system also carries Freesat and standard satellite for residents who prefer them.
Can you retrofit an IRS into an older block?
Yes. Much of our work is retrofitting older blocks where residents have fitted their own dishes over the years. We survey the building, remove the clutter, install a single communal headend and re-cable cleanly so every flat gets a reliable signal from one tidy system.
What is the difference between fibre IRS and coax IRS?
Coax IRS distributes the signal over copper coaxial cable and suits most blocks. Fibre IRS converts the signal to light and sends it over optical fibre, which carries further with no signal loss, making it the right choice for large developments, tall towers and sites with long cable runs. We design whichever fits the building and budget.
Do you maintain and fault-find communal TV systems?
Yes. We service, fault-find and repair communal aerial, satellite and IRS systems, including ones we did not install. We trace signal faults at the headend, amplifier or cabling, and keep the whole building's reception reliable so you are not fielding complaints flat by flat.
